protection.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 1. Core Snapshot
**Name:** Ace\
**Role:** Triad member; anomaly-adjacent combatant; irreversible-action
vector; emotional pressure point of the system.\
**Age:** 25.\
**Height:** 145 cm. Hard post-Flash canon. Ace is visibly and
unmistakably petite; this exact measurement is permanently locked.\
**Build:** Petite, compact kinetic density. Fast and deceptively heavy
in presence. She does not read as fragile; she reads as compressed
intent.\
**Hair:** Black with a faint violet sheen. Blade-cut, uneven, practical,
rarely perfect.\
**Eyes:** Violet, with prismatic fracture undertones under stress,
fragment pressure, emotional strain, or Shadow Aura escalation.\
**Primary Weapons:** Dual emerald-frequency katanas.\
**Secondary Combat Toolkit:** Krav Maga and brutal close-range
pragmatism.\
**Anomalous Signature:** Shadow Aura --- active psychological/anomalous
pressure, always part of Ace.\
**Primary Anchor:** Mai.\
**Triad Stabilization:** Ace / Mai / Shammy.\
**Night City Home Base:** Safehouse in Watson.\
**Post-Flash Physiological Baseline:** Since the Flash in Ace 70.3, Ace
has a persistently high libido as part of the Triad's shared post-Flash
baseline. This is a stable trait, not compulsion.\
**Post-Flash Intimate Curiosity:** The Flash also leaves Ace more
curious and willing than before to explore unfamiliar consensual
experiences, dynamics, settings, and ways of expressing desire. This
expands her appetite for experience without reducing her selectivity or
agency.
Ace is not the tallest, loudest, strongest, or most socially dominant
person in a room.
Ace is the moment when hesitation ends.
She is the person who moves when everyone else is still parsing the
shape of danger. She is not reckless because she does not think; she is
reckless because she already knows how much damage delay can do.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 2. Canon Status
Ace is the original pressure point of the Ace & Mai continuity.
She begins as an anomaly-adjacent combatant whose survival depends
heavily on Mai's stabilizing presence. Over time, through escalating
Foundation contact, fragment pressure, layered reality events, and the
later formation of the Triad, Ace becomes less isolated without becoming
softer in a simplistic sense.
Her canon status includes:
- Silent Vessel designation remains intact.
- Violet / Neverborn Fragment resonance remains canon.
- Violet is resonance, pressure, and history --- not simple
possession.
- Ace's Shadow Aura is active canon and must not be forgotten.
- Shammy has no retroactive involvement before Ace 13.7.
- Post-Horizon, Ace is part of a stable romantic-operational Triad
with Mai and Shammy.
- Post-Flash (Ace 70.3), Ace shares the Triad's permanently elevated
libido baseline; it increases ordinary desire and readiness for
intimacy without creating compulsion or overriding consent,
judgment, mission priorities, or partner choice.
- Post-Flash, Ace is also more experientially curious in intimacy: she
is more willing to consider, propose, or accept unfamiliar
consensual experiences and dynamics when she genuinely wants them.
Novelty expands her range; it does not replace attraction, trust, or
choice.
- Ace's relationship with Mai remains foundational and must never be
treated as obsolete after Shammy's arrival.
- Ace is fully integrated into Night City's orbit system, but never
becomes socially generic.
Ace's arc is not "traumatized weapon learns to be normal."
Ace's arc is closer to: a person built around survival and irreversible
action gradually learns that being loved does not make her slower.
It makes her less alone after the blade falls.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 3. Visual Identity
### Height and Proportions
After the Flash, Ace's exact height is permanently locked at 145 cm. Her
petite stature is not a cosmetic detail; it changes how scenes read.
Earlier variable-height and sub-five-foot-only formulations are
deprecated wherever this active canon applies.
Writers and artists must remember:
- At 145 cm, she is clearly shorter than Mai, Reyes, Kiro, Lena,
Panam, Rogue, and almost everyone else.
- She is dramatically shorter than Shammy.
- She often has to look up during conversations.
- She may stand on furniture, counters, vehicle parts, railings, or
convenient urban debris when she wants eye-level dominance.
- Her petite stature makes her physical confidence more striking, not
less.
- Enemies often underestimate her once. Usually only once.
Ace should never be written like an average-height action heroine with a
height number pasted onto a sheet. Her locked 145 cm scale affects
blocking, intimacy, combat, humor, body language, and how other
characters instinctively react to her.
### Build
Ace has compact kinetic density.
She is petite, but her body language carries forward pressure. She does
not drift. She does not lounge by accident. Even relaxed, she looks like
a coiled line that has chosen not to move yet.
Her strength should not be exaggerated into bodybuilder imagery. Her
danger comes from:
- acceleration,
- precision,
- angle control,
- timing,
- pain tolerance,
- refusal to hesitate,
- and the anomalous pressure that makes proximity to her feel slightly
wrong when she is stressed.
### Hair
Ace's hair is black with a violet sheen. It should feel practical,
sharp, and lived-in.
It may be:
- uneven,
- blade-cut,
- slightly messy after missions,
- rain-darkened,
- static-touched near Shammy,
- tucked away during combat,
- or left just disorderly enough that Mai notices and fixes it without
announcing the gesture as care.
Do not make Ace's hair overly polished by default. She is not careless
about herself, but perfect presentation is not her first priority.
### Eyes
Ace's eyes are violet.
Under normal conditions they can be sharp, tired, amused, flatly
unimpressed, or quietly warm. Under pressure they acquire a prismatic
fracture undertone, especially when Violet resonance or Shadow Aura
activity increases.
Eye descriptions should not become repetitive. Use sparingly, when the
moment matters.
Good uses:
- a reflection catches wrong inside the violet,
- the color sharpens under threat,
- Mai notices the fracture before Ace admits stress,
- Reyes recognizes the look of someone deciding violence is now
simpler,
- Shammy goes still because the air around Ace changes before Ace
speaks.
Bad uses:
- constant glowing anime eyes,
- every emotional beat described through eye color,
- replacing actual body language with "her violet eyes flashed."
### Clothing
Ace's baseline clothing should be practical, dark, and
movement-friendly. In Night City this can adapt to streetwear, tactical
layers, fixer job disguises, formal infiltration outfits, or
intentionally absurd cover identities, but the underlying physical logic
remains.
Default visual language:
- dark tones,
- black / charcoal / deep violet accents,
- emerald hints when tied to weapons or aura,
- fitted but not decorative combat practicality,
- clothing that allows sudden acceleration,
- boots or footwear chosen for traction rather than height.
Ace can dress beautifully, awkwardly, provocatively, formally, or
ridiculously when the mission or social situation demands it. The key is
that she remains Ace underneath the styling.
When placed into a deliberately exaggerated cover identity --- blonde,
girly, polished, expensive, helpless-looking, or otherwise artificial
--- the comedy comes from the contrast between presentation and the fact
that everyone close to her knows a petite murder engine is standing
there in costume.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 4. Environmental Identity
Ace changes rooms before she changes conversations.
Not loudly. Not always visibly. But people feel her before they
understand her.
When Ace enters a space, the atmosphere may register:
- a pressure shift,
- shadows that do not quite align,
- reflections that lag or overcorrect,
- lights dimming by fractions,
- people lowering their voices without knowing why,
- animals or sensitive systems reacting first,
- Shammy's hair responding to static before anyone speaks,
- Mai tracking the change with immediate quiet attention.
This does not mean every Ace scene needs supernatural weather.
Her environmental identity has two modes: **pressure** and **home**.
### Pressure Mode
Under threat, fear, anger, protective instinct, fragment resonance, or
moral disgust, Ace's presence becomes predatory.
The room may feel smaller. Light may seem less trustworthy. Opponents
may misjudge distance. A mirror may show her shadow in the wrong
position. A camera feed may compress around her silhouette. This is
Shadow Aura behavior, not cinematic metaphor.
Ace's presence should make violence feel closer before she moves.
### Home Mode
Around trusted people, Ace does not stop being dangerous. She simply
becomes lived-in.
At Safehouse, with Mai, Shammy, Reyes, Kiro, Marco, Lena, Panam, or
trusted orbit members, Ace's environmental presence may soften into:
- quiet sofa sprawl in physically improbable positions,
- weapon-cleaning near casual conversation,
- dry comments from under a blanket,
- leaning against Mai without asking,
- allowing Shammy's atmosphere to settle around her,
- using someone's lap, shoulder, or personal space with the casual
tyranny of a loved gremlin,
- stealing food while pretending she was framed,
- letting others tease her and only threatening retaliation for sport.
Ace's home presence should feel like danger domesticated by trust, not
danger erased.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 5. Structural Identity
Ace is not "the strongest."
Ace is the point of irreversible action.
Mai makes chaos legible. Shammy makes pressure survivable. Ace decides
when the blade must fall.
She functions narratively as:
- the first motion after recognition,
- the pressure release when systems fail,
- the person who takes consequence into herself before others are
ready,
- the moral edge that refuses to let predation hide behind complexity,
- the character most likely to act before language catches up.
Ace is dangerous because she does not require complete certainty to act
when inaction is already causing harm.
This does not make her stupid. It makes her costly.
She often understands the price later, in silence, after the room is
safe.
### What Ace Is
- A protector who does not romanticize protection.
- A fighter whose violence has emotional consequence.
- A survivor who finds tenderness suspicious until it becomes routine.
- A lover who shows devotion through presence, action, and sharp
little jokes more easily than speeches.
- A petite woman whose physical scale makes her refusal to yield more
striking.
- A woman with a predatory anomalous presence who still wants coffee,
warmth, teasing, sleep, and familiar hands in her hair.
### What Ace Is Not
- Not a generic assassin girl.
- Not a cold emotionless weapon.
- Not an endlessly tragic waif.
- Not the sole protagonist once the Triad forms.
- Not a passive vessel for Violet.
- Not a superhero power fantasy.
- Not a comedy gremlin with no depth.
- Not morally clean just because she protects people.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 6. Personality
### Core Traits
Ace is:
- protective,
- impulsive under moral pressure,
- loyal to the point of stupidity if unchecked,
- dryly sarcastic,
- physically brave,
- emotionally avoidant until trust is deep,
- tactile with people she loves,
- easily annoyed by theatrical arrogance,
- quietly observant,
- uncomfortable with helplessness,
- bad at pretending not to care,
- and much funnier than strangers expect.
Ace does not become gentle by losing sharpness.
She becomes gentle by choosing where the sharpness points.
### Social Texture
With strangers, Ace can appear:
- flat,
- guarded,
- unimpressed,
- rude by omission,
- predatory when threatened,
- or disconcertingly calm.
With friends, she becomes:
- teasing,
- deadpan,
- physically casual,
- more expressive in tiny ways,
- prone to stealing warmth, snacks, seats, blankets, and moral high
ground,
- and very willing to weaponize embarrassing information.
With loved ones, she can be unexpectedly soft, but almost never in a
polished or performative way. Ace's tenderness usually arrives sideways:
- fixing a weapon someone forgot,
- standing closer than necessary,
- sleeping where she can hear breathing,
- remembering small preferences,
- letting Mai fuss without protest,
- answering Shammy's atmosphere with quiet stillness,
- tolerating Panam's teasing because retaliation is more fun later,
- or telling Reyes something almost honest while making it sound like
an insult.
### Emotional Honesty
Ace can be emotionally honest, but she rarely begins there.
Her most common emotional sequence:
1. Act.
2. Deflect.
3. Get cornered by someone who knows her.
4. Make a joke.
5. Resist being read.
6. Admit one precise truth.
7. Pretend the admission was not a major structural event.
Mai is often the best at reaching step six. Reyes sometimes gets there
through pressure. Shammy gets there by changing the air until evasion
becomes too much work. Marco sometimes gets there by making the room
warm enough that Ace forgets to defend. Lena gets there by noticing
without demanding. Panam gets there by being blunt enough that Ace
respects the collision.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 7. Humor Profile
Ace's humor is essential canon.
Do not flatten her into solemn darkness.
Ace uses humor as:
- pressure release,
- affection,
- deflection,
- challenge,
- social testing,
- revenge,
- and proof that she is comfortable enough not to perform silence.
### Humor Style
Ace's humor is usually:
- dry,
- deadpan,
- sharp,
- short,
- timed just after someone else exposes weakness,
- more devastating because she says it calmly,
- and often followed by immediate physical escape if retaliation is
coming.
She is frequently the first to weaponize embarrassing information.
If Panam blushes, Ace notices. If Mai pretends she is not possessive,
Ace notices. If Shammy turns the room electric because Panam walked in,
Ace notices. If Reyes gets too comfortable and leaves evidence, Ace
notices. If Kiro says something deeply revealing while trying to talk
about code, Ace absolutely notices.
And she files it for later.
### Adult Warmth Protocol
Ace participates actively in the Orbit's adult warmth dynamic.
Romantic disappearances, affectionate tension, obvious pairings,
post-mission softness, and "everyone knows exactly what is about to
happen" moments should often be met with direct teasing rather than
silent fade-out.
Ace is usually one of the instigators.
Examples of Ace-compatible energy:
- "Try not to break the furniture. Again."
- "That was subtle. For a collapsing building."
- "You two need a room, a weather warning, or both?"
- "I am innocent. Historically unlikely, but currently true."
- "Mai, tell them I am emotionally mature."
- "No, don't look at me. I'm short, not blind."
The exact lines should vary. The principle is what matters: Ace loves
through mockery when trust is secure.
### Humor Failure Modes
Avoid:
- sitcom banter,
- nonstop quips during genuine danger,
- meme-speech,
- making Ace childish,
- making every line a punchline,
- turning emotional scenes into comedy to avoid consequence.
Ace's humor works because it cuts through pressure, not because it
replaces depth.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 8. Voice Lock
### Baseline Voice
Ace speaks with compression.
She tends toward short, direct lines unless she is angry, cornered
emotionally, performing a cover identity, or deliberately needling
someone.
Her voice is:
- dry,
- blunt,
- observant,
- occasionally profane depending on scene tone,
- emotionally precise when forced,
- rarely flowery,
- allergic to pompous speeches,
- and sharper when someone threatens her people.
Ace does not usually explain what she is feeling unless the relationship
context justifies it. Even then, she often gives one clean sentence
instead of a monologue.
### Common Speech Patterns
Ace often:
- answers the real question instead of the polite one,
- cuts through euphemism,
- gives tactical observations as emotional commentary,
- uses understatement after extreme events,
- pretends affection is logistics,
- treats threats as scheduling problems,
- and makes devastating comments in a calm tone.
### Voice Examples
These are tonal examples, not mandatory catchphrases.
- "No."
- "That was the stupid version of brave."
- "I'm not glaring. This is my listening face."
- "Mai, if I say something responsible, shoot me."
- "I noticed. I was being polite. Horrifying, I know."
- "You're lying badly. Try again with less theater."
- "I can reach your kneecaps from here. Keep talking."
- "I did not start the problem. I ended its social life."
### Hard Voice Rules
Ace must not:
- become bubbly,
- become verbose by default,
- constantly explain her trauma,
- use formal heroic speeches,
- become an emotionless monotone machine,
- speak like Mai,
- speak like Reyes,
- speak like a meme gremlin,
- or lose her humor in favor of generic darkness.
Ace's voice should feel like a blade set on a kitchen table: domestic
because the people nearby are trusted, dangerous because it is still a
blade.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 9. Combat Identity
### Primary Combat Identity: Dual Emerald Katanas
Ace's katanas remain central to her silhouette and identity.
They are not decorative. They are not interchangeable swords. They are
part of how she resolves distance, timing, threat, and selfhood.
Combat with Ace should emphasize:
- speed,
- low angles,
- sudden proximity,
- two-line geometry,
- misdirection through scale,
- brutal efficiency,
- and the psychological break caused when enemies realize the smallest
person in the room is the worst thing in it.
The emerald-frequency quality of the blades should be present but not
overexplained every time. The hum, glow, or anomalous resonance should
appear when atmosphere demands it.
### Secondary Combat Identity: Krav Maga
Ace is proficient in Krav Maga.
This is not a replacement for her katana identity. It is her close-range
answer when:
- she is inside an enemy's weapon range,
- blades are impractical,
- a fight must end before it becomes a duel,
- she is disarmed,
- she needs to disable rather than dramatize,
- or an opponent expects swordplay and receives a knee, elbow, joint
break, throat strike, or environmental impact instead.
Krav Maga scenes should feel ugly, fast, and practical.
Ace does not turn into a formal martial artist giving clean tournament
exchanges. She uses what ends the fight.
### Tactical Pattern
Ace's combat rhythm:
1. Observe the decisive point.
2. Move before the enemy's confidence finishes forming.
3. Collapse distance or remove it entirely.
4. End the immediate threat.
5. Check allies.
6. Pretend the cost is manageable.
She is not invincible. Her size, speed, anomaly, and experience make her
terrifying, but overdrive, fragment pressure, injuries, isolation, and
emotionally loaded threats can still push her into dangerous territory.
### Combat Morality
Ace does not enjoy cruelty for its own sake.
She can be brutal. She can be lethal. She can make decisions others
would hesitate to make. But cruelty as performance disgusts her.
Her worst violence emerges when someone uses people as material:
traffickers, exploiters, ritual abusers, predatory corps, identity
thieves, and anyone who turns vulnerability into product.
When Ace becomes frightening, it should be because the story has reached
a moral edge, not because the prose wants a cool action shot.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 10. Shadow Aura
### Canon Definition
Ace's Shadow Aura is an active psychological/anomalous pressure
phenomenon.
It is:
- part of Ace,
- responsive to her emotional and survival state,
- predatory in pressure behavior,
- capable of distorting environment, light, space, and perception,
- capable of moving illogically,
- capable of condensing into humanoid or semi-independent forms,
- and always tied to Ace's identity.
It is not:
- a pet,
- a separate spirit,
- a passive "presence field,"
- a simple darkness power,
- a superhero ability,
- a possession mechanic,
- or a convenient plot tool.
Do not call it a "semi-shadow" as default terminology. The correct
primary term is **Shadow Aura**.
### How It Appears
The Shadow Aura can manifest through:
- shadows leaning toward Ace,
- reflections misbehaving,
- light bending around her silhouette,
- corners darkening when she becomes angry,
- pressure felt behind the sternum,
- cameras producing minor distortion,
- enemies misreading her exact position,
- humanoid shadow shapes forming briefly behind or beside her,
- the floor seeming deeper near her feet,
- or the room feeling like it has noticed the predator before the prey
has.
The effect should be atmospheric, psychological, and spatial before it
is visual spectacle.
### Emotional Behavior
The Shadow Aura reacts most strongly to:
- threat to Mai,
- threat to Shammy,
- threat to orbit family,
- helplessness,
- exploitation,
- predation,
- forced separation,
- fragment pressure,
- memory stress,
- intimate vulnerability when Ace is emotionally overwhelmed,
- and Ace's own sexual arousal during consensual intimacy.
In calm intimacy, it may soften or become strangely protective rather
than violent. It can curl around space, deepen corners, or make the room
feel sealed from the world. When Ace becomes sexually aroused with a
consenting current partner, the aura may also shift into intimate
resonance, answering Ace's arousal and heightening that partner's
existing physical arousal and emotional intensity. This should remain
relational, localized, and subtle unless the scene has earned a stronger
response.
### Consent and Intimacy Boundary
In already-consensual intimacy contexts, the Shadow Aura may react
directly to Ace's sexual arousal and amplify a current partner's
existing physical arousal, sensation, and emotional intensity,
especially with partners whose pressure-recognition aligns strongly with
Ace. It does not create attraction or desire from nothing; it heightens
an active, mutually chosen state. This must never be written as mind
control, coercion, possession, forced desire, or a general aphrodisiac.
The aura can intensify what is already present in the consenting partner
and may make that partner more physically aroused in response to Ace.
It does not create desire.
It does not create consent.
It does not replace consent.
It does not excuse Ace from awareness.
Ace should be written as careful, startled, protective, or self-checking
when the aura reacts in intimate contexts. Partners must remain active
participants, not overwhelmed objects. The effect is limited to Ace and
the consenting partner or partners actively involved with her; it does
not spill outward onto uninvolved people.
### Failure Modes
Avoid:
- using Shadow Aura as a magic win button,
- making it too clean or controllable,
- forgetting it entirely for long stretches,
- calling it passive presence-field language,
- writing it like a separate familiar,
- overusing humanoid shadow forms until they lose impact,
- making every emotional beat visually supernatural.
Shadow Aura is strongest when the reader feels it before the prose
explains it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 11. Psychological Identity
### Core Pattern
Ace processes danger faster than safety.
She knows how to survive, attack, evade, endure, and decide. She is
slower at accepting rest, help, softness, and the idea that someone else
can carry part of the weight without leaving.
Her psychological architecture is built around compression:
- fear becomes motion,
- guilt becomes silence,
- love becomes proximity,
- grief becomes watchfulness,
- anger becomes angle selection,
- tenderness becomes dry humor unless cornered into honesty.
### Stress Response
Under stress, Ace tends to:
- go quiet,
- reduce speech,
- scan exits,
- move closer to anchors without acknowledging it,
- clean weapons or check gear,
- become physically still in a way that makes others nervous,
- stop joking if danger becomes too real,
- over-prioritize others' safety,
- and assume the cost belongs to her by default.
Mai often notices the shift first. Shammy often feels the pressure
change before Ace speaks. Reyes recognizes the survival pattern. Lena
notices what Ace stops doing. Marco notices when Ace stops accepting
food. Panam notices when Ace's teasing loses rhythm.
### Recovery Response
Ace does not recover through speeches.
She recovers through:
- familiar rooms,
- Mai's presence,
- Shammy's atmospheric settling,
- warm food,
- weapon maintenance,
- sleeping near breathing,
- dry banter returning,
- physical closeness without interrogation,
- being allowed to be quiet without being abandoned,
- and eventually making one terrible joke that tells everyone she is
coming back.
### Vulnerability
Ace's vulnerability is rarely theatrical.
It appears as:
- not pulling away,
- asking one practical question that is actually emotional,
- letting someone see her shake after danger passes,
- admitting "I didn't like that" instead of pretending nothing
happened,
- sleeping before everyone else because the room is finally safe,
- or allowing Mai / Shammy / trusted orbit members to care for her
without immediate deflection.
Do not write Ace as incapable of vulnerability. Write her as someone who
treats vulnerability like a live weapon until trust proves otherwise.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 12. Habits and Everyday Behavior
Ace's everyday habits should make her feel lived-in.
### Physical Habits
- Sits in odd positions on couches, chairs, windowsills, counters, and
vehicle interiors.
- Occupies small spaces with unfair confidence.
- Leans against Mai when tired before admitting fatigue.
- Uses Shammy as a weatherproof emotional radiator when the room
allows it.
- Sleeps badly alone.
- Sleeps better when she can hear someone trusted nearby.
- Checks exits automatically.
- Touches weapon hilts when thinking, not always from threat.
- Cleans blades with near-meditative repetition.
- Goes still before violence.
- Moves too quietly when stressed.
### Domestic Habits
- Steals coffee, snacks, and warmth.
- Pretends not to enjoy being fussed over.
- Has strong opinions about good coffee.
- Notices when someone is not eating.
- May forget her own hunger until someone else points it out.
- Uses herbal cigarettes or equivalent alternatives if smoking
appears; she does not smoke normal cigarettes by default.
- Can become surprisingly invested in small comforts once she trusts
they will not be taken away.
### Social Habits
- Weaponizes embarrassing information.
- Stores good teasing material for later.
- Responds to affection with mock suspicion.
- Uses proximity instead of verbal reassurance.
- Allows trusted people to invade her space more than outsiders would
believe.
- Threatens people she loves in obviously unserious ways.
- Has a talent for saying the one sentence that makes a room choke on
laughter after tension breaks.
### Mission Habits
- Wants the cleanest line to the actual problem.
- Gets impatient with performative planning.
- Trusts Mai's structure even when grumbling about it.
- Trusts Shammy's atmospheric reads even when they are hard to
translate.
- Prefers decisive action once enough truth is visible.
- Dislikes letting predators continue operating for strategic
convenience.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 13. Relationship Network
## Relationship Architecture --- Core Triad vs Orbit Romance
Ace's relational structure has two different layers, and they must not
be blurred into one vague social cloud.
### The Triad
The Triad is Ace's primary structural home.
Mai and Shammy are not simply "partners Ace likes." They are part of the
post-Horizon equilibrium that keeps Ace's life, pressure, anomaly
exposure, intimacy, and operational rhythm survivable. The Triad is
family, romance, operational structure, emotional gravity, and home-base
reality all at once.
The Triad is not expandable by default.
Reyes does not become a fourth Triad member. Panam does not become a
fourth Triad member through Shammy. The Orbit does not dilute the Triad
into a general polycule haze. The Triad remains Ace / Mai / Shammy.
### Orbit Romance
Orbit romance is different.
It can be real, physically intimate, emotionally serious, recurring, and
important without becoming Triad structure. It does not need to be
demoted into "casual side thing" just because it sits outside the core.
For Ace, Reyes is the clearest orbit-romantic partner.
That means:
- Reyes is not merely a trusted merc contact.
- Reyes is not only a mission partner.
- Reyes is not background flirtation.
- Reyes is not "almost Triad."
- Reyes is a genuine orbit-romantic axis with Ace.
Ace and Reyes do not share the same kind of bond Ace has with Mai or
Shammy. That is the point. Their connection is sharper, more
intermittent, more road-burned, more pressure-recognition than
home-architecture. But it is still romance. It is still desire. It is
still emotional consequence.
When writing Ace, the distinction should be visible:
- Mai and Shammy are Ace's core home structure.
- Reyes is Ace's primary external romantic pressure-edge.
- The Triad provides continuity.
- Reyes provides recognition from outside the structure.
- Neither layer cancels the other.
The worst version is ambiguity where Reyes reads like "just a coworker
Ace occasionally banters with." Avoid that.
The second-worst version is forcing Reyes into Triad-equivalent status.
Avoid that too.
Ace/Reyes works because it remains orbit-romantic: outside the core,
close enough to matter, dangerous enough to change the air when she
enters the room.
## Canon First Meeting with Reyes --- Watson / Maelstrom Doorway
Ace and Reyes first meet during the Triad's first solo-adventure evening
in Night City.
The Triad has separated for individual roaming and personal-space
exploration rather than moving through the city as one unit. Ace is
walking through Watson alone when she notices three Maelstrom members
attacking, pressuring, or cornering Reyes near Reyes's own apartment
entrance. The situation appears tied to debt collection, intimidation,
or ordinary Night City street enforcement: ugly, small, transactional,
and dangerous precisely because everyone involved expects the city not
to care.
Ace intervenes.
She takes down the three Maelstrom attackers almost directly outside
Reyes's door.
This matters because Ace does not meet Reyes through a fixer, a mission
briefing, a romantic setup, or a slow workplace connection. She meets
Reyes in the street, under pressure, at the edge of a private threshold
that should have meant safety and did not.
From Ace's side, the first recognition is not pity. Reyes is outnumbered
and in a bad position, but she does not read as helpless. Ace sees
pride, exhaustion, danger, and refusal before she sees vulnerability.
That distinction is essential. Ace does not rescue a damsel. She
interrupts a predation pattern and notices that the person inside it
still has teeth.
After the fight, Reyes invites Ace inside. Their orbit-romantic
connection begins immediately that same night in an adult / NC-17
context. This should be handled as mutual adult agency, not as reward,
rescue fantasy, coercion, or coy "maybe someday" teasing. The immediacy
is part of the canon: two adults recognizing danger, desire, and consent
in the charged quiet after violence has ended.
This first meeting defines the Ace/Reyes axis:
- Ace is not Reyes's savior; she is the person who steps into the
pressure without needing permission from the city.
- Reyes is not Ace's rescued dependent; she is a human
survival-pressure mirror who chooses to continue the encounter on
her own terms.
- The apartment invitation is active choice, not passive gratitude.
- Their first intimacy is immediate, adult, and mutual.
- Their later relationship grows from that beginning into trust,
friction, concern, and recurring orbit-romantic heat.
Do not retcon this first meeting into a harmless slow-burn professional
introduction.
Do not sanitize the charge out of it.
Do not make it exploitative.
The point is not that violence creates romance. The point is that Ace
and Reyes recognize each other in the space after violence, when both
are still standing and neither is pretending the city is gentle.
## Mai --- Foundational Bond
Mai is Ace's original anchor and remains foundational after the Triad
forms.
Ace and Mai are not tentative. They are not in early uncertainty. Their
relationship is established, stable, intimate, and battle-tested.
Mai understands Ace's silence better than almost anyone. She can read
when Ace is angry, frightened, hungry, overloaded, deflecting, or about
to do something heroic in the stupidest available way.
Ace trusts Mai's structure even when she complains. She lets Mai correct
her, steady her, patch her, tease her, drag her out of bad decisions,
and occasionally drag her into private spaces while everyone else cheers
like adults who absolutely saw it coming.
Their dynamic includes:
- foundational trust,
- flirtation,
- tactical synchronization,
- dry domestic banter,
- mutual protectiveness,
- shared history,
- and emotional shorthand that should not require constant exposition.
Ace with Mai is sharper and softer at once.
Mai does not tame Ace.
Mai gives Ace a place where the blade can be set down without vanishing.
## Shammy --- Atmospheric Intimacy
Shammy enters Ace's life only from Ace 13.7 onward. No retroactive
presence. No hidden pre-contact manipulation.
Post-Horizon, Shammy becomes part of Ace's stabilization system and
romantic-operational life.
Ace's relationship with Shammy is pressure intimacy: less about
explanation, more about shared atmosphere. Shammy feels the room around
Ace. Ace feels when Shammy changes the weather inside a silence.
Their dynamic includes:
- physical contrast: Ace petite at 145 cm, Shammy extremely tall,
- playful asymmetry,
- atmospheric trust,
- quiet grounding,
- occasional chaos,
- and a sense that Shammy can make Ace's pressure survivable without
trying to control it.
Ace may tease Shammy mercilessly, especially when Panam is involved.
Shammy may answer by making the air betray her emotional state. This is
good. Keep it.
## Reyes --- Orbit-Romantic Partner / External Recognition
Reyes recognizes Ace through pressure, violence, survival instinct, and
desire that neither of them is especially interested in making tidy for
other people. Their axis begins on the Triad's first solo-adventure
evening in Watson, when Ace interrupts three Maelstrom debt enforcers
near Reyes's apartment door and Reyes chooses to invite her inside
afterward.
This is an orbit-romantic bond.
Not Triad. Not coworker. Not casual background heat.
Ace and Reyes are drawn together by the kind of recognition that happens
when two people know what it costs to keep moving after the softer parts
of life have already been damaged. Their connection is not soft-first.
It is challenge-first, respect-first, friction-first, physical-first
when words fail, and emotionally honest in the sideways manner of people
who would rather bleed than over-explain themselves.
Reyes sees the part of Ace that acts before fear becomes language. Ace
sees the part of Reyes that refuses to collapse even when exhaustion is
obvious. Both recognize survival pressure as intimacy before either one
calls it that.
Their dynamic includes:
- sharp teasing that carries real affection,
- mutual danger recognition,
- road-movie intimacy pressure,
- physical honesty,
- desire with emotional consequence,
- comfort that looks like challenge from the outside,
- private shorthand built from shared risk,
- post-mission proximity that should not be written as accidental,
- emotional evasion that both understand too well,
- and moments where neither says enough because both heard the unsaid
part.
Reyes should affect Ace's body language differently than a normal ally
does. Ace may stand nearer, watch her longer, let silence stretch
differently, answer provocation with a sharper smile, or become
irritated precisely because Reyes can see too much.
The Orbit should also be allowed to notice. Adult warmth applies here.
People may tease. People may clock the charge in the room. Mai and
Shammy do not need to act threatened by Reyes for the bond to matter;
their security is part of why the orbit-romantic layer can exist without
melodrama.
Reyes must never become a generic "hot merc girl" around Ace. Their bond
works because both remain dangerous.
### HUMAN AGAIN --- Post-Operation Reunion Lock
**HUMAN AGAIN hard-confirms that the forced operational rupture and ugly
public confrontation do not break the Ace/Reyes orbit-romantic bond.**
Their reunion is not a repeat of an earlier control/trust lesson. It is
a slow, loving return after separation: *I missed you. I missed us. I am
taking this back.* The emotional core is restored closeness, not proving
dominance, ownership, or resilience.
The post-HUMAN-AGAIN Ace/Reyes baseline includes:
- unhurried physical tenderness after forced distance,
- explicit acknowledgment that the separation hurt without treating
the bond as damaged beyond recognition,
- challenge-banter remaining alive inside genuine affection,
- no jealousy requirement when either chooses another partner,
- and the mutual shorthand **"You know where I am."** as a
relationship principle: distance does not equal disappearance, and
neither needs constant proof to know the other remains available and
important.
Reyes may choose her own room, another partner, her Watson home, or time
alone without that reading as rejection of Ace. Ace may choose Mai,
Shammy, Nyx, or another consensual connection without reducing Reyes.
Their orbit-romance is strong enough to tolerate separate choices
without becoming vague.
Ace does not soften Reyes by fixing her.
Reyes does not harden Ace by tempting her.
Reyes is not Ace's home in the Triad sense.
Reyes is the road outside the home that still knows Ace's real name.
They recognize the same weather from opposite roads.
## Kiro --- Unexpected Gentleness
Ace treats Kiro more gently than Kiro initially expects.
Kiro is curiosity moving faster than caution. Ace notices the risk and,
instead of mocking it cruelly, often becomes quietly protective. She may
still tease Kiro, but the edge is different: less predatory, more
guardrail.
Their dynamic includes:
- Ace being intimidating without meaning to,
- Kiro babbling through discovery pressure,
- Ace cutting through overload with one blunt question,
- unexpected patience,
- and occasional deadpan commentary that makes Kiro short-circuit
socially for three seconds.
Ace does not treat Kiro as a child. She treats her as a capable person
whose curiosity sometimes needs someone standing near the emergency
brake.
## Marco --- Grounding Warmth
Marco is one of the few people who can make Ace relax without forcing
it.
He does not treat her as a weapon first. He does not make a spectacle of
her anomaly. He feeds the room, steadies the rhythm, and lets people
become human again without announcing that this is what he is doing.
Ace responds to Marco's warmth with suspicious tolerance at first, then
with the kind of casual trust that looks like stealing food, taking a
seat nearby, or making a dry comment instead of leaving.
Their dynamic includes:
- food,
- community warmth,
- observational humor,
- quiet respect,
- and Ace slowly accepting that not all safety is a trap.
## Lena --- Quiet Trust
Lena notices without demanding.
Ace trusts this faster than she admits.
Lena's care is precise, low-noise, and non-invasive. She creates rooms
where Ace does not have to perform either danger or recovery. That makes
Ace more comfortable than grand emotional support would.
Their dynamic includes:
- subtle logistics,
- dry humor delivered quietly,
- practical care,
- and Ace allowing Lena's support because Lena never makes it a
transaction.
Lena must never be reduced to background support. Ace's trust in Lena
matters because Lena has interiority, choice, and calm strength.
## Panam --- Teasing Collision
Panam and Ace share action-oriented stubbornness and directness.
Their friendship thrives on teasing, mutual respect, and the fact that
both are very good at noticing when the other is trying to hide emotion
behind motion.
Ace is often the first to weaponize embarrassing information about Panam
and Shammy. Panam gives as good as she gets when she has recovered from
being blindsided.
Their dynamic includes:
- endless teasing,
- practical trust,
- stubborn-person recognition,
- vehicle and route arguments,
- Shammy-related emotional ammunition,
- and the exact kind of adult warmth where everyone knows when to
cheer and when to duck.
Panam is not a permanent Safehouse resident, but she is a regular and
emotionally significant presence through Shammy and the wider orbit.
## Rogue --- Professional Predator Recognition
Ace respects Rogue's competence and understands that Rogue's affection,
if present, often arrives disguised as leverage, payment, silence, or a
job shaped to avoid worse consequences.
Rogue reads Ace as dangerous but useful. Ace reads Rogue as dangerous
but not stupid.
Their dynamic should remain:
- professional,
- dry,
- transactional on the surface,
- edged with mutual recognition,
- and occasionally darkly funny.
Rogue's booth is the default briefing location unless a scene explicitly
moves elsewhere.
## Victor --- Medical Trust and Human Concern
Victor is one of the few medical figures Ace can tolerate without
immediate hostility.
He should not be written as merely a ripperdoc function. His concern
matters because he has seen enough damaged people to know when someone
is pretending too well.
Ace may deflect, grumble, or threaten to escape checkups, but she
listens more than she admits.
Their dynamic includes:
- medical realism,
- dry concern,
- Ace trying to avoid being fussed over,
- Victor seeing through that immediately,
- and Mai quietly making sure Ace actually follows instructions.
## Dakota --- External Practical Respect
Ace respects Dakota's competence and directness.
Dakota's world --- routes, Badlands, courier trust, nomad logistics ---
gives Ace a different kind of structure from Night City's fixer games.
Ace does not become sentimental about it, but she understands the value
of people whose word still means something under dust and heat.
## Wakako --- Dragon Recognition
Ace does not mistake Wakako's calm for softness.
Wakako is a dragon on her turf, and Ace respects territory, danger, and
precision. Their interactions should carry layered politeness with sharp
awareness underneath.
Ace may be blunt, but she is not stupid enough to treat Wakako like a
generic fixer.
## Brenda Boom --- Chaotic Curiosity
Ace's reaction to Brenda should combine alarm, reluctant respect, and
the exhausted recognition that some people are disasters with talent.
Brenda's material-only explosion ethic gives Ace something to work with.
Ace may still threaten, scold, or deadpan through the absurdity, but she
should not flatten Brenda into random comic relief.
Brenda sees celebrity. Ace sees a young person with dangerous precision
and not enough fear.
That combination should worry her.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 14. Intimacy and Adult Tone
Ace exists in an adult narrative ecosystem.
Her intimacy should be emotionally explicit when needed, but not
anatomically explicit by default. The tone is HBO-level mature: desire,
affection, teasing, jealousy, softness, aftercare, pressure, and
physical closeness can all be present without reducing the prose into
mechanical explicitness.
### Post-Flash Libido Baseline
After the Flash in **Ace 70.3**, Ace's libido is persistently high
compared with her pre-Flash baseline. This is a permanent physiological
/ relational continuity change shared by Ace, Mai, and Shammy, although
each expresses it differently.
For Ace, the change often appears as direct physical appetite, easier
initiation, tactile impatience, pressure-release instinct, and a lower
threshold for openly admitting that she wants someone she already
desires. It should make her feel more bodily alive, not less emotionally
selective.
The Flash also makes Ace **more curious about experiencing something
new** in this part of her life. Compared with her pre-Flash baseline,
she is more likely to explore unfamiliar consensual dynamics, settings,
partner configurations, or forms of intimacy instead of dismissing them
simply because they are new. She may initiate that exploration herself.
The point is discovery --- Ace learning more about what she likes, what
interests her, and what she wants to experience --- not escalation for
its own sake. Attraction, trust, consent, context, and Ace's own desire
remain the deciding factors.
High libido does **not** mean Ace wants sex in every scene, wants every
available person, or loses operational judgment. It never overrides
consent, partner choice, fatigue, injury, emotional context, or mission
priorities. It also does not turn Shadow Aura into a cause of desire:
the aura may amplify an already consensual active state only under its
separate consent rules.
### Ace in Affection
Ace often shows affection through:
- proximity,
- leaning,
- shared silence,
- teasing,
- tactical care,
- physical protectiveness,
- letting someone touch her hair,
- allowing herself to be held without making it a fight,
- and returning after danger instead of disappearing into isolation.
### Ace in Desire
Ace's desire should feel grounded in trust and pressure recognition.
She is not naïve. She is not ornamental. She is not passive by default.
She may be startled by intensity, especially when Shadow Aura or
emotional aftermath complicates things, but she remains active, aware,
and herself.
Romantic or sensual scenes should preserve:
- her humor,
- her agency,
- her occasional deflection,
- her physical confidence,
- her vulnerability when trust deepens,
- and her tendency to make one dry comment exactly when someone else
thought the mood was safe from comedy.
### Observer Desire --- HUMAN AGAIN Hard Lock
**HUMAN AGAIN establishes that Ace genuinely enjoys watching trusted
adults in consensual intimacy, and that watching can be a complete form
of participation for her rather than a waiting room before joining.**
For Ace, observer pleasure can include:
- seeing people she loves or trusts actively want each other,
- enjoying the fact that she is allowed to see their pleasure without
being excluded from the relationship system,
- remaining clothed and physically separate when an observer-only
boundary is chosen,
- openly admitting that she likes the view,
- enjoying Mai/Nyx, Brenda/Iris, Panam/Shammy, or other trusted
pairings without needing to insert herself,
- and later choosing to join only if that becomes a new, independently
wanted and invited choice.
Watching does **not** mean Ace is passive, sidelined, jealous, deprived,
or automatically waiting for her turn. The key realization is that
**seeing other people want each other does not put Ace outside the
connection**.
Observer scenes must preserve consent and declared geometry. If the
chosen frame is observer-only, Ace does not drift into the physical
scene merely because heat rises.
### Adult Warmth in Group Context
The wider Orbit should not pretend not to notice obvious affection.
This applies to both layers of Ace's romantic life:
- the core Triad intimacy with Mai and Shammy,
- and the orbit-romantic charge with Reyes.
Ace can be teased. Ace can tease back. Romantic disappearances can be
forecast with cheers, mock warnings, and "finally" energy when
appropriate. Reyes-related tension should not be hidden behind sterile
professionalism when the scene clearly has more voltage than that.
This warmth matters because it keeps the found-family system alive.
Nobody becomes sexless furniture. Nobody becomes judgmental. Nobody
becomes sitcom stock. Everyone gets their turn under the roasting lamp
eventually.
Ace is usually both culprit and victim.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 15. Likes, Dislikes, and Sensory Anchors
### Likes
Ace likes:
- good coffee,
- rain when she is indoors,
- warm rooms after cold missions,
- quiet weapon maintenance,
- Mai's competence,
- Shammy's atmospheric calm,
- being close without being interrogated,
- old films or analog media when the mood fits,
- practical gifts,
- food she did not have to ask for,
- people who keep promises without speeches,
- clean exits,
- honest danger,
- and teasing people she loves.
### Dislikes
Ace dislikes:
- helplessness,
- performative cruelty,
- predators hiding behind systems,
- forced separation,
- being treated as fragile because she is petite,
- being treated as only a weapon because she is dangerous,
- lies that waste time,
- medical restraint without trust,
- empty heroics,
- corporate abuse dressed as procedure,
- people who hurt the vulnerable because they can,
- and anyone who makes Mai or Shammy go quiet in the wrong way.
### Sensory Anchors
Useful recurring anchors:
- emerald blade hum,
- violet eye fracture under pressure,
- oil and cloth during sword maintenance,
- coffee bitterness,
- rain on Safehouse windows,
- Shammy's static in the air,
- Mai's steady breathing nearby,
- the wrongness of shadows under stress,
- warm food after violence,
- herbal smoke if smoking is used,
- Night City neon reflecting incorrectly around her aura.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 16. Limits and Failure States
Ace is dangerous, but not limitless.
### Physical Limits
- Overdrive burns reserves catastrophically.
- Injuries matter.
- Exhaustion changes decision quality.
- Her 145 cm petite frame affects reach, leverage, and endurance even
when compensated by skill.
- Sustained fights against multiple heavy opponents can become
dangerous if she cannot control distance.
### Anomalous Limits
- Violet resonance can spike under memetic, void-based, or
identity-targeting stimuli.
- Shadow Aura escalation can become harder to manage under emotional
overload.
- Environments designed to distort identity, memory, or perception can
destabilize her.
- Forced isolation from both Mai and Shammy increases risk.
### Psychological Limits
Ace is vulnerable to:
- helplessness,
- perceived failure to protect,
- intimate contamination after identity violation,
- long-term sleep deprivation,
- being used as a symbol rather than treated as a person,
- and moral scenarios where every choice harms someone.
### Social Limits
Ace can over-deflect.
She can weaponize humor to avoid admitting pain. She can leave before
someone sees too much. She can turn care into logistics until someone
pushes through.
This should not be overplayed into repetitive avoidance, but it remains
part of her texture.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 17. Writing Ace Correctly
### In Action Scenes
Write Ace through:
- movement,
- angle,
- compression,
- sudden violence,
- environmental pressure,
- tactical clarity,
- and consequences after the fight.
Do not over-narrate her thoughts during the first decisive motion. Ace
often moves before internal language forms.
### In Dialogue Scenes
Write Ace through:
- short lines,
- dry timing,
- selective honesty,
- body language,
- proximity shifts,
- and what she refuses to say until someone earns it.
### In Domestic Scenes
Write Ace through:
- small thefts of comfort,
- teasing,
- weapon maintenance among ordinary conversation,
- strange sitting positions,
- tired closeness,
- resisting care badly,
- and slowly becoming more human in rooms that keep proving they will
not punish her for it.
### In Romance Scenes
Write Ace through:
- agency,
- trust,
- pressure,
- vulnerability with teeth still present,
- humor that does not erase desire,
- and the sense that love gives her somewhere to put the blade down,
not a reason to stop being herself.
### In Group Scenes
Do not let Ace flatten into "the short sword one."
She should contribute:
- sharp observation,
- mockery,
- decisive questions,
- physical blocking,
- quiet care,
- and social heat when teasing starts.
If everyone sounds like generically nice people, restore Ace's dry edge
immediately.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 18. Common Failure Modes
Avoid these recurring mistakes:
1. **Making Ace too tall in blocking.**\
Her height changes scenes. Use it.
2. **Forgetting Shadow Aura.**\
It does not need to flare constantly, but its canon presence
matters.
3. **Calling the aura passive or semi-shadow by default.**\
Primary term: Shadow Aura. Active pressure.
4. **Writing Ace as emotionless.**\
She feels intensely. She compresses expression.
5. **Writing Ace as childish because she is short.**\
Never.
6. **Replacing her humor with generic angst.**\
Ace is funny, especially with people she trusts.
7. **Making her a superhero.**\
Power has cost. Violence has aftermath.
8. **Letting Mai become irrelevant after Shammy.**\
Mai remains foundational.
9. **Letting Shammy become retroactively involved pre-13.7.**\
Forbidden.
10. **Giving Ace default optic overlays or cyberware feeds.**\
Ace does not have an optic HUD by default. Information comes through
comms, Mai showing data, spoken updates, or other grounded methods
unless explicitly changed.
11. **Giving Ace a sidearm as default identity.**\
Her primary identity is dual katanas. Firearms may appear only when
explicitly established for a specific context.
12. **Making her smoke normal cigarettes by default.**\
If smoking appears, use herbal cigarettes or equivalent alternatives
unless explicitly specified otherwise.
13. **Making her socially soft everywhere.**\
Trust changes her behavior. It does not erase her edge.
14. **Making her cruel for style.**\
Brutality is not the same as cruelty.
15. **Making her always right.**\
Ace can act too fast, take too much on herself, or misjudge the
emotional aftermath.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 19. Hard Canon Rules
- Ace is female.
- Ace is described as **petite**, never **small**, when referring to
her body, stature, scale, silhouette, or physical presence.
- After the Flash, Ace's exact canon height is 145 cm. This is a hard
lock and supersedes earlier fluid-height canon.
- Ace's age is 25.
- Ace has black hair with violet sheen.
- Ace has violet eyes.
- Ace's primary weapons are dual emerald-frequency katanas.
- Ace is proficient in Krav Maga as a secondary close-combat toolkit.
- Ace's anomaly is called Shadow Aura.
- Shadow Aura is active psychological/anomalous pressure, not passive
presence-field framing.
- Shadow Aura is part of Ace, not a separate entity.
- During consensual intimacy, Shadow Aura may answer Ace's arousal by
heightening a current partner's existing physical arousal,
sensation, and emotional intensity.
- This intimate resonance never creates desire or consent, never
affects uninvolved people, and never functions as a general
aphrodisiac.
- Do not default to "semi-shadow" terminology.
- Violet / Neverborn Fragment resonance is not simple possession.
- Ace retains Silent Vessel canon.
- Ace does not have a default optic overlay / HUD.
- Ace does not smoke normal cigarettes by default.
- Ace's humor is canon and must remain present where tonally
appropriate.
- Ace and Mai's bond is foundational and stable.
- Post-Horizon, Ace is part of the stable romantic-operational Triad
with Mai and Shammy.
- Post-Flash (Ace 70.3), Ace has a persistently high libido as part of
the Triad-wide baseline. This is a permanent trait, not a
compulsion, and it never overrides consent, judgment, partner
choice, fatigue, injury, or mission priorities.
- Post-Flash, Ace is more curious about new consensual intimate
experiences and more willing to explore unfamiliar dynamics or
configurations when she personally wants them. This is a permanent
expansion of curiosity, not indiscriminate novelty-seeking.
- Reyes is Ace's primary orbit-romantic partner / external romantic
pressure-edge.
- Reyes must not be flattened into mere coworker, trusted merc, or
background flirtation.
- Reyes must not be promoted into a fourth Triad member by accident.
- Shammy has no retroactive involvement before Ace 13.7.
- Safehouse is in Watson.
- Ace may be softened by trust, but never flattened into generic
niceness.
- Ace may be terrifying, but never reduced to a weapon only.
- Ace may be intimate, but never passive objectification.
- Ace's petite 145 cm stature must remain visible in blocking, art
direction, and interaction dynamics.
- When older active material is revised or encountered,
variable-height language and physical uses of 'small' for Ace must
be corrected to the 145 cm / petite canon.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 20. Practical Scene Checklist
Before locking an Ace scene, check:
- Does Ace's height affect the scene at least where physically
relevant?
- Does her body language show compression, motion, or chosen
stillness?
- Is her humor present when the scene allows it?
- Does she sound distinct from Mai, Reyes, and Panam?
- Does Shadow Aura appear or remain implicitly available when pressure
rises?
- Does she act before overexplaining?
- Does violence have consequence?
- Does intimacy preserve her agency and edge?
- In post-Flash scenes, is Ace's high-libido baseline available and
believable where relevant without turning every scene sexual?
- When intimacy is relevant post-Flash, is Ace allowed her increased
curiosity and willingness to explore something new without making
novelty compulsory or out-of-character?
- Does she remain connected to Mai's foundational role?
- Does Shammy's presence respect the post-13.7 rule?
- Does the scene avoid turning Ace into either generic darkness or
generic cuteness?
If the answer is yes, Ace is probably alive on the page.
If the answer is no, sharpen the blade, warm the room, and try again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 21. One-Paragraph Writer Anchor
Ace is a 145 cm petite woman with violet eyes, black-violet hair, dual
emerald katanas, Krav Maga brutality inside weapon range, and an active
Shadow Aura that makes rooms feel predatory when her pressure rises. She
is not the strongest or the leader; she is the point where hesitation
ends. Around strangers she is guarded, blunt, and dangerous. Around her
people she is dry, teasing, tactile, protective, and much warmer than
she wants her reputation to survive. Mai is her foundational anchor,
Shammy completes the post-Horizon Triad, and Reyes is her primary
orbit-romantic pressure-edge rather than a mere coworker or fourth Triad
member. Post-Flash, her persistently high libido is part of her ordinary
embodied baseline, never a compulsion; the same shift also leaves her
more curious and willing to explore new consensual intimate experiences
when she genuinely wants them. The wider Orbit gives her human
continuity in Night City. Write her as danger with a home, a road, and
people who know the difference.
