# BADLANDS SUPPLIER FARM --- LOCATION SHEET v0.1
**Status:** CURRENT CANON / EXPANDABLE\
**Primary Story Use:** ACE 182.6 --- Birgitta & Panam Courier Week\
**Region:** Badlands, approximately 4--5 hours by road from Night City\
**Access:** Secondary road from Panam's usual return route;
approximately 10--20 minutes from the main road\
**Primary Function:** Working farm with an integrated direct-sale farm
shop\
**Panam Connection:** Established food supplier used previously for
cabin-weekend provisioning
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 1. CORE LOCATION
The farm is an established working property in the Badlands,
approximately four to five hours' driving distance from Night City.
It lies close enough to one of Panam's normal return routes that
stopping there does not require a major detour, but the farm itself is
well away from the main road.
Access requires leaving the main route and following a smaller side road
for approximately ten to twenty minutes.
The side road ends at or effectively serves the farm property. It is not
a road Panam drives quickly.
The road is narrow and/or uneven enough that a truck --- particularly
one carrying cargo --- must be driven carefully. Panam knows the road
and automatically reduces speed after turning off the main route.
The transition from the main road to the farm access road creates a
distinct change in rhythm:
- highway / courier-route speed falls away;
- the truck moves more carefully;
- traffic and road noise diminish;
- arrival at the farm feels removed from the main transport corridor
despite remaining reasonably close to Panam's normal route.
The farm is therefore familiar and practical rather than remote for the
sake of isolation.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 2. PANAM'S RELATIONSHIP TO THE FARM
Panam has used the farm previously as a source of genuine food.
She has bought steaks, vegetables, and other food there for cabin
weekends and similar larger gatherings.
Her previous purchases have often been substantial enough to feed a
sizeable group.
Panam therefore knows:
- where the farm is;
- how to reach it;
- how the access road needs to be driven;
- that the shop reliably carries food worth making the detour for.
The farm is not a new discovery made during ACE 182.6.
It is part of Panam's existing practical map of the region.
The woman who normally handles the shop has seen Panam before and
recognizes her as a returning customer.
Their relationship is presently best defined as **familiar customer /
familiar proprietor**, not as established close friendship unless later
stories expand it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 3. APPROACH
From Panam's normal route toward Night City, the farm requires a turn
onto a smaller side road.
**Main route → side road → approximately 10--20 minutes → farm.**
The road requires attentive driving.
Panam does not treat the turn as unusual. She knows where she is going
and adjusts the truck naturally for the smaller road.
For a passenger unfamiliar with the destination, however, the turn makes
it immediately obvious that Panam is deliberately leaving the normal
route.
### ACE 182.6 potential arrival beat
Birgitta notices the detour.
> "Where are we going?"
>
> "Getting dinner."
>
> "We passed food twenty minutes ago."
>
> "Not this food."
This exchange is illustrative rather than mandatory dialogue.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 4. FARMYARD
The access road brings vehicles into the farm's main yard.
The yard serves both the working property and the family residence.
The exact dimensions, surfaces, outbuildings, agricultural equipment,
livestock areas, growing areas, and vehicle parking arrangement remain
**OPEN FOR FUTURE EXPANSION**.
The important established visual relationship is:
**SHOP / FARM STRUCTURE ← YARD → FAMILY RESIDENCE**
The property should visibly read as a functioning farm rather than a
purpose-built retail destination.
The shop exists because the farm sells some of its production directly.
The farm does not exist to support the shop.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 5. FARM SHOP
The farm has its own shop building/space.
The shop is physically integrated into or forms part of a larger farm
structure rather than standing alone as an isolated roadside store.
It sells genuine farm food, including at minimum:
- steaks / real meat;
- vegetables;
- other meal ingredients as established by future stories.
Exact inventory, production methods, preservation, refrigeration,
payment systems, pricing, and seasonal availability remain **OPEN**.
The shop should feel practical and local rather than polished corpo
retail.
It is sufficiently established that Panam can intentionally make the
detour knowing she can provision a meal or larger gathering there.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 6. SHOPKEEPER
A woman normally handles the retail/shop side of the farm.
**Name:** OPEN\
**Age:** OPEN\
**Relationship to farm owners/family:** OPEN\
**Appearance:** OPEN
She recognizes Panam from previous visits.
Her prior experience of Panam primarily includes seeing her buy food in
quantities appropriate for a larger group.
This becomes relevant during ACE 182.6.
On the final day of Panam and Birgitta's courier week, Panam arrives
with Birgitta and purchases food for **two people** rather than
cabin-weekend quantities.
The shopkeeper therefore has enough context to recognize that this visit
is different without needing an explanation.
Her reaction should remain understated.
A glance at the smaller purchase, Panam, and Birgitta is sufficient.
She does not need to interrogate them, explicitly label the visit a
date, or become a comic matchmaker.
Panam is perceptive enough to notice the glance.
Birgitta is perceptive enough to notice Panam noticing it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 7. FAMILY RESIDENCE
A family residence stands on the opposite side of the shared yard from
the farm/shop structure.
The residence has a terrace.
Further architectural details remain **OPEN**.
The residence should reinforce that this is not simply a commercial
supplier. People live here; the shop and agricultural work are part of
the same everyday property.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 8. THE DOG
The family has a dog.
**Name:** OPEN\
**Breed/type:** OPEN\
**Sex:** OPEN\
**Appearance:** OPEN
During the ACE 182.6 visit, the dog is on the terrace of the family
residence when Panam's truck arrives.
The dog hears and/or sees the arriving truck, looks toward it once, and
otherwise does not react significantly.
It does not:
- bark an alarm;
- charge across the yard;
- greet Panam theatrically;
- become the focus of the scene.
Its behavior suggests that vehicles arriving in the yard --- and
possibly Panam's truck specifically --- are not remarkable enough to
demand attention.
The dog remains primarily an environmental detail: a small sign of
ordinary domestic life continuing around the arriving visitors.
**Important:** This dog is unrelated to Not Steve.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 9. ACE 182.6 --- STORY FUNCTION
The farm appears on the **final day** of Birgitta and Panam's
approximately week-long courier trip.
The courier work is effectively finished or nearing completion.
They are on the return leg toward Night City.
Night City remains approximately four to five hours away by road.
Panam turns off her normal return route and drives the smaller road to
the farm.
The stop initially appears practical: they need dinner.
Its emotional function is larger.
For most of the week, Birgitta has been accompanying Panam through
Panam's working courier life:
- driving;
- deliveries;
- loading/unloading;
- fuel stops;
- roadside food;
- conversations in the truck;
- motels;
- mornings together;
- the gradual development of their own working and personal routines.
At the farm, the nature of the journey changes.
They are no longer primarily provisioning the courier run.
They are buying food for **their final evening together before returning
to Night City.**
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 10. ACE 182.6 --- PURCHASE
Panam buys ingredients for dinner for two.
The purchase includes at minimum:
- two good steaks;
- vegetables;
- whatever additional ingredients are required for the meal.
Exact side dishes and additional purchases remain open until the scene
is written.
The intentionally important contrast is quantity.
### Previous Panam visits
Food for a substantial cabin group.
### ACE 182.6 visit
Dinner for:
**Panam + Birgitta.**
The shopkeeper can recognize this difference immediately.
No exposition is necessary.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 11. ACE 182.6 --- ROMANTIC FUNCTION
The farm is not itself required to become the site of the final dinner.
Its primary role is the threshold between:
**the working courier week**
and
**the private final evening before returning home.**
After leaving the farm, Panam and Birgitta still have several hours
separating them from Night City.
This allows Panam to choose a quiet place along the remaining route
where they can stop and prepare the food together rather than simply
driving straight home.
By this point in the week, their practical coordination should have
become natural.
They no longer need to negotiate every small task.
One begins something; the other handles the next thing.
The meal therefore demonstrates the routine they have built during the
week without explicitly discussing that routine.
The emotional point is not a grand declaration.
Panam has deliberately used part of their remaining time to buy proper
food and create one last evening that belongs to the two of them before
Night City resumes around them.
The farm makes that possible.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 12. CONTINUITY VALUE
The farm is intended as a reusable location.
Future stories may return to it for:
- cabin provisioning;
- Panam courier routes;
- Panam/Birgitta trips;
- other Badlands travel;
- larger group food purchases;
- future relationship callbacks.
A later simple suggestion from Panam such as:
> "Steaks?"
may carry additional meaning for Birgitta after ACE 182.6 because of
this first shared stop.
That association should be allowed to develop organically rather than
being treated immediately as a formal ritual.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 13. CURRENT HARD DETAILS
The following are established for v0.1:
- Working Badlands farm.
- Approximately 4--5 hours' drive from Night City.
- Located along/near Panam's normal return route.
- Reached by a smaller side road.
- Side-road drive approximately 10--20 minutes from the main road.
- Access road requires careful driving, particularly with a truck.
- Farm has its own direct-sale shop.
- Shop is part of a larger farm structure rather than a separate
roadside building.
- Family residence is across the same yard.
- Residence has a terrace.
- Family dog may rest on the terrace and reacts minimally to Panam's
arriving truck.
- Woman handles the shop side.
- Shopkeeper has seen Panam previously.
- Panam has previously bought real steaks, vegetables, and larger
quantities of food there for cabin weekends/groups.
- ACE 182.6 final-day visit is noticeably different because Panam and
Birgitta buy dinner for two.
- Farm stop occurs on their return toward Night City.
- It provides the food for a romantic final meal before the last leg
home.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 14. OPEN ITEMS FOR FUTURE STORIES
Do **not** establish without later story need or explicit canon
decision:
- farm name;
- family surname;
- shopkeeper name;
- other family members;
- dog name/breed/sex;
- exact geographic direction from Night City;
- exact acreage;
- livestock;
- crops;
- farm machinery;
- energy/water systems;
- defenses/security;
- relationship with Aldecaldos beyond Panam's established patronage;
- exact food-production technology;
- pricing;
- payment arrangements;
- accommodation, if any;
- exact history of the property;
- whether Panam knows anyone there beyond the shopkeeper;
- whether other core characters have personally visited.
These details should be added only when future stories require them.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
## 15. LOCATION PRINCIPLE
The farm should remain an ordinary, functioning place.
Its importance comes from repetition and personal association rather
than spectacle.
For Panam, it begins as a reliable place to buy real food.
For Birgitta, ACE 182.6 gives it another meaning.
It becomes the place where, after a week of courier work, motel rooms,
roadside meals, fuel stops, long conversations, shared mornings, and
hundreds of miles together, Panam turns off the road home and buys **two
steaks**.
Not supplies for the group.
Not cargo.
Dinner for them.
